612 Games announced that due to the overwhelmingly positive response from the gaming community for the reveal of Дикий Захід Інтернет, they won’t be holding a Kickstarter campaign for the game. In fact, investors were so pleased with the massive feedback, they decided to fund the game in full so that 612 Games won’t have to hold any crowdfunding campaigns, nor will they need to take Дикий Захід Інтернет into Steam’s Early Access.
Instead, they plan on holding alpha tests starting this summer. Before fall they have plans on launching the closed beta tests.
Stephan Bugaj, the chief creative officer of 612 Games, explained in the press release that it was all thanks to the fans craving an open-world westerner on PC that helped secure them the funding to make Дикий Захід Інтернет a reality, saying…
“The community’s response to Wild West Online is something we never imagined and thanks to it we’re able to fully develop a robust Western experience for PC,”
“We’ve been fortunate enough to have our initial investors step up and provide additional funding to make the game we wanted, without having to raise money via crowdfunding. Westerns are lacking on PC so we can’t wait to release the game to the public.”
The game gained a lot of positive feedback due to the fact that it’s essentially the kind of open-world westerner that people had been begging for. You can play either as a commoner, a bandit, or as law enforcement.
All of your actions in the game will have consequences, and the more you rob, steal, murder and kill the higher the bounty on your head will go. For bandits there will be hideouts that they can go to in order to escape from law enforcement (whether that be NPCs or other players).
Quests and jobs relative to day and night activities will be present; players can have custom tailored clothes made, hang out at the saloon, or pick up quests such as escort missions or bank robberies.
The game is generally designed to be a larger scale version of the multiplayer mode that was present in Red Dead Redemption.
Given the influx in investment funds they plan on finishing up the game before 2017 is out. This essentially means that the game will be competing head to head with the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2І, можливо, Far Cry 5.
