Гевін МакІннес, The Proud Boys, New Right US заборонений у Twitter

The one-way censorship train continues to roll past the point of reasonable return, this time picking up passengers Gavin McInnes and the official Proud Boys and Proud Girls Twitter accounts.

За оцінками The Gateway Pundit, many of the Proud Boys accounts have also been banned. Twitter sent a message to the members, stating that the accounts were suspended on August 10th, 2018 for “violating the Twitter Rules”.

The suspension note doesn’t say what rules they violated or how.

The group was originally founded in 2016 by Gavin McInnes as a chauvinist group for the Right. They were anti-segregation and anti-identitarian, hoping to separate themselves from the Nazi groups that attempted to affiliate themselves with the Proud Boys.

The group was scheduled to appear at a Unite The Right rally over the weekend, but organizing the event and keeping out the undesirables may be difficult now that the Twitter accounts are gone and the media has the ability to craft a narrative about who will be appearing and how. This will likely result in plenty of news organizations claiming that the Proud Boys are Nazis.

За оцінками Buzzfeed, Twitter claimed that the group violated the rules by being an extremist group promoting violence, saying…

“We can confirm that these accounts have been suspended from Twitter and Periscope for violating our policy prohibiting violent extremist groups.”

Pundit Mark Dice pointed out that groups and members of Black Lives Matter haven’t been removed from Twitter, highlighting Twitter’s uneven policing of groups using the social media service.

Other smaller groups were also banned from Twitter, including the New Right US, which is a political action committee designed to bring Conservatives together and put “America first”. Co-founder Mike Tokes tweeted out that the founder of New Right US, along with the site’s official Twitter account, have both been banned.

This comes shortly after Alex Jones and Infowars was banned from Apple, Disqus, Spotify, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube after receiving pressure from Left-wing journalists and media outlets.

Essentially a lot of Right-wing groups and pundits are being silenced ahead of the general elections in November.
