Castle Of Heart, Hack-and-Slash, ексклюзивний Nintendo Switch

Polish developer 7Levels Studio recently announced that they have a new game in the works for the Nintendo Switch called Castle Of Heart. The side-scrolling, hack-and-slash title looks a lot different from other Nintendo Switch games.

The developers recently tossed up a teaser trailer for Замок Серця, which centers around a cursed knight who has been turned to stone by an evil sorcerer. You’ll have to move through a petrified village and a castle of 20 levels across four different environments. You’ll have to overcome traps, challenges and a variety of enemies, each with their own gimmicks and attacks.

The teaser trailer is only 15 seconds long, but it gives you a quick look at what you can expect from the side-scrolling hack-and-slash title.

The first thing you’ll notice is that graphically the game doesn’t look like a typical vomit-splash of crayons like many other games on the Switch. Instead, 7Levels Studio has focused on a more serious visual aesthetic that fits in line with the game’s slightly more serious tone. I hate to draw comparisons to the other Gothic-themed medieval action-RPG Dark Souls, but it’s really not hard to see the similarities in the art-styles between the two games.

The combat itself isn’t necessarily slow and plodding like From Software’s series, but it’s also not quite a fast-paced hack-and-slash game like Strider or Onikira. The combat is a mix of measured attacks and combo-centric mechanics, but it’s neither too slow nor lightning quick.

You’ll have a large arsenal of power-ups at your disposal, and you’ll also have to keep your magic tank full due to the fact that sustained damage to the Knight’s stone body will disintegrate the stone. If you don’t keep the magic replenished, the Knight will be susceptible to losing his body parts from traps or powerful swings from vicious enemies. It’s an interesting mechanic to keep players keen on maintaining the Knight’s stone body.

The game will take place across environments inspired by real life Polish locations, and will also support up to 50 different weapons, seven hours of gameplay, and HD Rumble support for the Joy-Con controllers.

Замок Серця is due for release at some point in time within the first quarter of 2018, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. Be sure to keep an eye out on the official 7Levels website для майбутніх оновлень.
