Atomic Wolf’s Звільнений looks like a really cool game. L. INC., and Walkabout are handling the publishing duties, and they recently announced that there’s a limited time demo that’s available for free right now over on the парової магазин.
You can grab the demo and get in some play-time with Звільнений to get an idea of what the gameplay and general story is about. The demo will only be available over the course of the next four days, and after that you’ll have to wait until the second quarter of 2020 to get the full game.
Звільнений has a pretty cool story set in a realistic cyberpunk future where people are oppressed by a social credit system governed by the corporate elite. Mainstream news media keeps people desensitized and disoriented with fake news while social networks and facial recognition systems allow the government to control every aspect of your life. However, an underground faction known as “Liberated” are working to disrupt the system, and free humanity.

Polish developer Atomic Wolf have been working on this little gem for some time, infusing side-scrolling melee and projectile action with a story that unfolds through multiple-choice comic book panels. It’s a little bit like Comix Zone зрощений з Ця війна Mine і тире Тіньовий комплекс.
You’ll play through the game using multiple characters, solving puzzles, uncovering a plot that unravels the intrigue and complexity of a dystopian future, and make decisions that will determine the fate of society.
I love the visuals and the comic book aesthetic. The 2.5D perspective appears to be put to good use here, and the demo will determine if that feature makes or breaks the game.
According to the press release, the game will release first on the Nintendo Switch during the second quarter of 2020 and then later for PC. However, the PC demo is available right now for a limited time. It was supposed to release during the Game Developers Conference, but since that was put on hold due to the deadly embrace of Corona-chan, they decided to release the demo without GDC.
